Cormoran Strike is back with his second big case.  Robin, his personal assistant, is becoming more and more interested in detective work and convinces Strike to consider training her in as a partner.  With this case, Cormoran and Robin are asked to find eccentric writer Owen Quine who has disappeared.  His wife claims this isn’t unusual, but this time it has been longer and she has no idea where he has gone.  Shortly before his disappearance, a copy of his next novel is sent to several editors who are horrified by what they read.  Has Quine totally lost his mind or is there someone else lurking in the shadows of his disappearance?
