Mel Hanningan is trying to make sense out of her life.  The tragic death of her brother, the break up of some friendships, and the fact that she has recently been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, is making every day life tough.  But Mel is a fighter and she is finding ways to cope with the roller coaster of emotions and the learning how to balance her new medications.  She enjoys her work at the senior citizen home which is where she meets David, who is the grandson of one of the new residents.  Can Mel start a relationship with David without being honest about the realities of her struggle?
