Griffin, Theo, and Wade have been a friend squad for years.  Until things changed when Griffin and Theo came out to each other.  Wade made them promise that if they ever broke up, things wouldn't get weird. Theo decides to start college a year early and moves to California where he meets Jackson. Griffin is devastated and even though he broke things off with Theo, he doesn't like the idea of Theo moving on. But now Theo is dead and Griffin and Wade are grieving in their own very personal ways. They are finding it difficult to say goodbye to their friend and move forward with their lives, even though they know it is something they will have to do.
