Neighborhood Girls

by Jessie Ann Foley
Genre:  Realistic Fiction

Wendy Boychuck's life was shattered when her father, a police officer, was arrested, convicted and put away in jail for a long time.  Wendy thought the best way to rebuild her life was to start high school with a fresh start which meant turning her back on her life long friend, Alexis, and doing whatever it took to become popular.  So now Wendy is best friends with Kenzie, Sapphire, and Emily, and even though she doesn't always agree with how they act and how they treat people, Wendy goes along with it.  But when Kenzie sets her sights on tormenting Alexis, Wendy has a tough choice to make.  Does she continue to follow Kenzie or does she stand up for what is right?  Each choice has its own consequences that Wendy is going to have to deal with.
